Progressive TikTok ‘Star’ Gets Crushed In Election Bid

Arizona Blowout

Progressive influencer Deja Foxx was crushed in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, losing by more than 40 points to Adelita Grijalva.

The Associated Press called the race with 65% of the vote counted:

Grijalva won 62%, while Foxx managed only 21%.

Dynasty vs. Social Media

Foxx, 25, leaned on her “lived experience” and TikTok following, but it didn’t connect.

“She lost by 40,” one user on X noted, quoting Politico’s earlier optimism.

Grijalva, backed by Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Arizona Democrats, had deep local roots.

Foxx Responds

“I couldn’t be prouder of what we built together,” Foxx said, calling her campaign a movement that “shattered expectations.”

Still, her $670,000 fundraising and online strategy fell flat against Grijalva’s name recognition and support.

Grijalva’s Victory Message

“This is a victory not for me, but for our community and the progressive movement my dad started more than 50 years ago,” Grijalva said.
