Mikayla Raines, founder of Save a Fox Rescue and popular YouTuber, passed away in June 2025, leaving behind a powerful legacy in animal rescue. Her husband Ethan shared the tragic news, saying she had long battled depression and borderline personality disorder. “Her sensitivity was both a beautiful gift and a heavy burden,” he said.
A Life of Rescue
Mikayla’s journey began at 15 when she met her first fox while volunteering. That moment inspired her to start Save a Fox, rescuing hundreds of animals, many from fur farms. She even helped shut one down, saving 500 animals despite limited space.
Facing Cruelty with Compassion
Ethan revealed that years of online harassment, including from within the rescue community, took a toll. Yet, Mikayla’s dedication never faded. “Despite it all, she never gave up on the animals.”
A Legacy That Lives On
Supporters worldwide mourned her loss, remembering her “immense heart” and tireless efforts.
