Star who rescued exotic animals takes her
Beloved Activist Dies at 29
Mikayla Raines, founder of Save A Fox and a passionate animal rights advocate, has died by suicide at age 29. Her husband Ethan confirmed the news in an emotional Instagram video on June 23, saying she passed “a couple days ago.”
A Life Dedicated to Rescue
Mikayla began helping animals at 15 and later founded Save A Fox in 2017. The organization became the largest fox rescue in the U.S., operating in Minnesota and Florida.
Fighting for the Voiceless
She focused on saving injured or abandoned exotic animals, especially those from fur farms. “She was truly the most selfless person I have ever known,” Ethan said. “Not having her here makes everything feel empty… I feel broken.”
Beyond Social Media
Though known on YouTube, Mikayla “was never in it for fame.” Her mission was simple: give animals a second chance when no one else would.
