Sylvester Stallone Draws the Line:
Sylvester Stallone Rejects “Politics on Set” for His New Film
Veteran actor Sylvester Stallone, 79, made headlines during the
first meeting for Freedom’s Last Stand in Texas when he told his crew, “No Pride crap.
Not here, not now. We’re making a movie, not a parade.”
Witnesses said the comment drew laughter and applause from crew members.
The film follows a Marine-turned-sheriff fighting a corrupt tech company and is being marketed as “a return to old-school masculinity.”
Stallone explained, “People can live however they want.
But when you start turning every movie into a sermon, you lose the art.”
Critics called him outdated, but fans praised his “focus on storytelling rather than slogans.”
Country star Trace Adkins defended him, saying,
“He’s not saying no people — he’s saying let’s make movies again, not moral pamphlets.”
As Stallone put it, “If people wanna make rainbow movies, great.
I’ll make the red, white, and blue ones.”
