Teen Who Worked Burger King Shift In Graduation
Teen Works at Burger King After Graduation, Goes Viral for Dedication
While many high school graduates celebrated, 18-year-old Mykale Baker went straight to work. Just hours after graduating from Mills Creek High School in Georgia, he reported for duty at his local Burger King — still wearing his graduation stole and medals.
Maria Mendoza, whose daughter also graduated that night, saw Baker at the drive-thru window around 10:00 PM. She snapped a photo and shared his story on TikTok, where the video quickly went viral.
“While many graduates spent the night celebrating with friends and family, one young man quietly showed the world what determination looks like,” Mendoza wrote on GoFundMe.
Viral Moment Sparks Support
Moved by Baker’s “dedication, humility, and work ethic,” Mendoza started a GoFundMe to help him attend college. As of May 31, it had raised over $115,000. “Let’s get together as a community and support this young kid,” the campaign reads.
Supporters flooded the page with encouragement: “Your dedication and positive spirit are truly inspiring,” one wrote. Another added, “Continue to be GREAT at any and everything you set your mind to!!”
