Leslie Easterbrook, best known as Sgt. Callahan in Police Academy, built a career defined by versatility and strength.

Born in Nebraska and adopted as an infant, she grew up surrounded by music.

As her mother once said, “We thought she had a sweet voice…

but it wasn’t until she went to college that we discovered what a remarkable voice she really has.”

Though she first hoped to be an opera singer, Easterbrook found success in Hollywood,

starting with Laverne & Shirley. Her audition for Callahan surprised even her:

“I’d never played someone who’s intimidating… I wondered how I could do it.”

She later starred in more than 300 TV episodes and embraced horror roles,

admiring fans she called “the most cheerful and delightful people in the world.”

Now 75, and still occasionally acting

, Easterbrook remains a celebrated Hollywood icon whose talent,

charisma, and boldness continue to inspire fans.
