Tourist’s Final Words To Mom Before…
Tragic Fall
Juliana Marins, 26, died after falling 500 meters into a volcano crater while hiking in Indonesia’s Gunung Rinjani National Park on June 21. Drone footage showed her motionless on a cliff. Her body was found on June 24.
Final Words
Before the fall, Marins sent her mother a heartfelt message: “Mami, I love you so much. I was heartbroken when we said goodbye.” She added, “I’m not afraid of much, much less trouble.”
Family’s Grief and Anger
Her family blamed rescue delays, writing, “If the team had reached her within the estimated time of 7 hours, Juliana would still be alive.” They vowed, “We are going to seek justice for her.”
Calls for Accountability
Senator Tereza Cristina urged an investigation: “Juliana was left behind twice: on the dangerous trail and after she fell.” Brazil’s Foreign Ministry confirmed recovery efforts were hampered by poor weather and terrain.
