Wife Said, ‘Send Your Father to a Nursing Home or I Leave’
A Family Divided
Angela insisted her husband Stefan send his aging father, Gektor, to a nursing home. Tensions grew at their old family house, filled with memories of Gektor’s late wife, Lina. Gektor whispered to her photo, “You always said I’d grow old and cranky. Well, you were half right, Lina.” Angela’s cold attitude made the atmosphere heavy: “This house is falling apart… And him—” she said sharply. Stefan felt torn but didn’t stop her.
The Ultimatum
Angela gave Stefan an ultimatum: “Either he moves into a home, or I leave.” She already found a place for Gektor, expecting Stefan to drive him there. Gektor, heartbroken, packed quietly. Stefan’s eyes were “red-rimmed and heavy with regret.” Gektor told him, “You don’t have to go,” but Stefan replied, “I do. You have to live your life.”
A New Beginning
Instead of a nursing home, Stefan drove Gektor to the airport to meet his brother Alex and family. Gektor was overwhelmed seeing Alex again: “Dad! It’s been too long.” Their reunion was joyful, with Alex’s boys shouting, “Grandpa!” They spent a night by the beach filled with laughter and warmth. Alex’s wife said to Gektor, “You raised good men. You should be proud.” Gektor’s eyes “glistening,” he replied, “I am.”
