Women share Ozempic side effect known as ‘ozempic vulva’
Ozempic’s Effects Beyond Weight Loss
Ozempic, originally for Type 2 diabetes, is now widely used for weight loss by slowing digestion and increasing fullness. But alongside success stories, users are reporting surprising side effects.
Common issues like nausea and constipation are well known, but online discussions are now highlighting unexpected body changes, including what’s been dubbed “Ozempic vulva.”
Though unofficial, women have described labial sagging, dryness, and muscle weakening after rapid weight loss.
Dr. Tahery cites “sagging of the labia, weakened vaginal muscles, and dryness,” linking these to reduced fat and muscle in the pelvic area.
Dr. Justin Perron explains, “Fat loss happens all over,” including intimate areas, which can affect appearance and function.
Hormonal shifts and dehydration may also play a role. As Dr. Melanie Bone notes, these symptoms may arise even without direct drug effects.
Some women are turning to cosmetic fixes, but growing concerns point to a need for deeper research.
