Trump Achieves Record Approval Rating
Despite a rocky start marked by mass firings, rising egg prices, market swings, and tariff disputes,
Donald Trump’s approval ratings remained relatively steady in his first month back in office.
Trump imposed a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum,
triggering billions of dollars in retaliatory tariffs from Canada and Europe and raising fears of a broader trade war.
Addressing Congress, he said his presidency had begun in a “swift and unrelenting” way,
defending immigration crackdowns, tougher border controls, government cuts, and the removal of diversity programs.
Gallup shows Trump averaging 46% approval in his second term, higher than his first-term average.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll found 44% approval overall and 47% support for his immigration policy.
However, a CNN poll showed 54% disapproval and only 39% approval of his tariff policies, pointing to economic concerns.
