Inside Renee Nicole Good’s Final Morning
On January 7, 2026, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good
was fatally shot during an encounter with ICE agents in south Minneapolis after
returning home from dropping off her six-year-old son at school.
What began as a routine morning “quickly escalated into tragedy,”
leaving her family and community in shock.
In the aftermath, Good’s wife cried, “They shot her in the head. I have a 6-year-old in school.”
Her mother, Donna Ganger, remembered her as compassionate and selfless, saying,
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known… She was an amazing human being.”

ICE claimed Good “weaponized her vehicle,”
but witnesses and video accounts disputed that version, fueling outrage and calls for accountability.
At a vigil, community members urged the public to

remember Good for her humanity, not the circumstances of her death.
