Bill Ackman Donates $10,000 To GoFundMe
Donation and Context
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman confirmed he gave $10,000
to a GoFundMe supporting ICE agent Jonathan Ross after
the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.
Ackman said he was the top contributor and wrote he is a
“big believer in our legal principal that one is innocent until proven guilty.”
The Incident
Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, died during an ICE operation in Minneapolis.
Federal officials defended the agents’ actions,
but public reaction has been sharply divided,
with protests in several cities and officials offering conflicting views.
Fundraising Reactions
Separate fundraisers were launched for Ross and Good’s family.
The family’s campaign closed after raising over $1.5 million,
and Ackman said he had tried to donate there too.
Public Response
Ackman described the situation as tragic and
said he hoped it would lead to “constructive dialogue.”
His donation drew both praise for supporting due process and
criticism for its timing while the investigation continues
