Deadly Crash on BR-251
A serious accident Tuesday night (13) on BR-251 near Grão Mogol
left nine people dead and 12 injured.
The head-on collision between a van and a truck
caused widespread shock and a major emergency response.
Initial Findings
Preliminary investigations by the Civil Police of Minas Gerais
suggest the truck crossed into the opposite lane and struck the van,
which was carrying workers returning to Ceará.
Evidence at the Scene
Forensic specialist Hugo Leonardo said physical evidence
such as tire and drag marks guided the early conclusion.
“It was a determining factor,” he explained, pointing to signs
on the asphalt that support the initial assessment.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities stress that the investigation is still underway.
