11-Year-Old Girl Gives Her Life to Rescue
Tragedy at Star Lake
Summer fun turned tragic when 11-year-old Jordan Roe died saving her 8-year-old cousin,
Laila, during a tubing accident at Star Lake in Florida.
The girls were being pulled behind a Sea-Doo when it struck a dock, throwing them into the water.
A Selfless Act
Laila suffered life-threatening injuries, while Jordan did not survive.
Her aunt said, “Jordan sacrificed her life,
and she saved her cousin’s life with her life,” calling her the family’s “protector.”
Family Grief and Legacy
Laila’s mother urged others, “Hold your babies tight… please be careful.”
Jordan, who dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, is remembered as “a free spirit and compassionate.”
Her family shared, “Jordan died as she lived — protecting her family.”
Community Response
Fundraisers support Jordan’s funeral and Laila’s care as tributes pour in.
One friend wrote, “You were a light in our lives, and that light will never fade.”
