Alex Pretti’s parents found a folded
Parents Speak Out
The parents of Alex Pretti, killed during a federal immigration
operation in Minneapolis on January 24,
say their son’s life and actions have been misrepresented.
Pretti, 37, was an ICU nurse who worked with military veterans and,
according to his family, was deeply committed to kindness and fairness.
Official Account vs. Evidence
The Department of Homeland Security said Pretti was armed and
“violently resisted” officers during a “targeted operation.”
However, bystander videos and witness statements appear to
show him holding a phone, not a gun, before he was shot.
Final Days and Warnings
Pretti’s parents recalled ordinary final conversations and
said they urged him to be cautious at protests.
“Go ahead and protest, but do not engage,
do not do anything reckless,” his father said.
Calls for Accountability
The family described Pretti as a “kindhearted soul”
and asked that his story be
judged by verified evidence, not assumptions.
