Shark Attack Leaves Boy Critical

A 12-year-old boy, Nico Antic, is in critical condition after

a shark attack at Shark Beach in Sydney Harbour.

He was swimming with friends when he was bitten,

with authorities believing a bull shark was responsible.

Rescue and Medical Response

Friends pulled Nico from the water after he lost consciousness.

Emergency crews performed CPR, applied tourniquets, and

rushed him to Sydney Children’s Hospital.

A junior lifesaver, he was placed in an induced coma

and underwent emergency surgery with multiple blood transfusions.

Family Update and Fundraiser

A GoFundMe update from family friend Victor Piñeiro

said that despite “all efforts,” the attack led to the

“worst possible outcome.” He wrote:

“Tragically, their beloved child, Nico, was attacked by a shark on

Sunday in Sydney harbour and sustained devastating injuries.”

Wider Safety Concerns

The incident follows other shark encounters in Sydney,

prompting beach closures and renewed concern over marine safety.
